About The Position

The PE Teacher is responsible for providing physical education instruction that promotes health, fitness, and physical activity. This role includes designing age-appropriate lessons and fostering positive habits that support physical well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field.
  • Valid South Carolina teaching certification.
  • Experience in teaching physical education at the elementary and middle school levels.
  • Strong knowledge of fitness and sports education.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement physical education curriculum for students in grades K-8.
  • Teach students skills related to sports, fitness, and overall wellness.
  • Foster an environment that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical health.
  • Assess students’ physical fitness and provide feedback on their progress.
  • Organize and supervise physical education events and activities.
  • Communicate with parents regarding students' physical development.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate physical education across subjects.
  • Promote the importance of lifelong physical activity and health.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
