Community For Learning (CFL) Project SEAL provides social, emotional, and academic after-school and summer programs in ten Albuquerque school communities, primarily serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The instructor works in an after-school or before-school program designed to help at-risk students build resiliency, improve academic skills, and develop social skills. Instructors work with CFL staff to foster a safe, effective, and supportive school community. They use positive techniques to guide children’s and youths’ behavior and encourage positive interactions. Activities and curriculum are hands-on and research-based, and reflect the interests and needs of children, families, the community, and the school. Programming may include academic skill development, recreation and outdoor play, service-learning projects, art and creative expression, exploration of interests and talents, teamwork, positive character development, and leadership skills. The role is an off-campus work-study position at elementary schools throughout the Albuquerque metro area. A work-study award is required. The schedule is 15–18 hours per week, with afternoon program availability from 2–6 p.m.; specific times vary by site and will be discussed during the interview.
