The Electro Plating/Waste Treatment Team Leader works with Team Members, supervision, engineering, maintenance/tool from, and quality support to facilitate the production of quality components/finished parts at the lowest manufacturing cost. The Team Leader will assist in task organization/orientation, collect information from and communicate to required sources, to maximize productivity of the Team. The Team Leader is a very important link in the communication chain between Team Members and other required sources. Normal production activities must be communicated to the Team Leader. Operates and maintains plater(s) and wastewater treatment equipment ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection requirements. Activates emergency procedures in the event of an overflow or spill of chemicals. Monitors and samples plating and wastewater treatment systems to ensure it is operating within operational limits. Performs all chemical and waste treatment testing per control documents and instructions given to include weekly and monthly required analysis. Performs routine chemical analysis on plating tanks and uses these results to adjust/maintain as necessary the specifications in the tanks. Supplies, monitors and cleans the plating operations to maintain established solution levels for proper plating level and desired plating results. Maintains and documents treatment chemistry through periodic additions, monitoring physical conditions and keeping the plating and wastewater treatment systems parameters within specifications. The Team Leader will be responsible to ensure communications with the oncoming and off going shifts, hold start up meeting, maintain the area communications boards. They will lead 5S and SMED events in their area as well as work well with members of their team. Responsible to maintain, document and ensure compliance with all process, quality, chemical analysis and any other parameters required to maintain the safe and environmentally compliant operation for the plater, waste treatment and chemical storage areas. Follow safety guidelines and wears safety equipment as needed and cleans up spills promptly. Perform all inspection and data collection as specified. Preventative maintenance, replacement of filters, valves, lines and performs chemical testing. Replaces plater operator(s) in case of absence and/or if directed.
