About The Position

Join the team as a day-shift, full-time Electrophysiology Cardiology Technician in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The role is based at Lovelace Medical Center, an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds that provides emergency care, surgical services, robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services. The hospital highlights its use of advanced technology, including New Mexico’s first Intuitive da Vinci 5 surgical system.

The technician performs interrogations of pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, monitors and reports on remote patient interrogations, and maintains the device database. The role also assists cardiologists with cardiac procedures and exams and helps maintain department systems, equipment, and supplies while following policies and regulations for compliance and patient safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of a variety of software application programs.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety procedures.
• Six months of related experience in a healthcare environment.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
• National certification.
• CCSD, IBHRE, and CRAT certifications are required within the first year.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in a cardiovascular technology (CVT) program from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Perform interrogations of pacemakers and implantable defibrillators.
• Monitor and write reports on remote patient interrogations and manage those interrogations.
• Identify critical device and/or patient issues and bring them to the attention of the provider.
• Maintain the device database.
• Assist cardiologists with cardiac procedures and exams.
• Maintain and monitor systems, equipment, and supplies for the assigned department.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
