About The Position

Erlanger Health System is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its Electrophysiology (EP) program. This is a weekday, day-shift role that offers a balanced mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities, allowing the provider to play a key role in both patient care delivery and program development. In this position, the APP will be responsible for managing patient care across all phases of the peri-procedural experience, including pre-procedure evaluation, coordination during procedures, and post-procedure follow-up. The role involves conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans, providing thorough patient education, and performing risk assessments to ensure optimal outcomes. A strong understanding of peri-procedural care is essential, including familiarity with patient education, risk stratification, and established follow-up protocols. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the APP will support several key administrative and programmatic initiatives. This includes close collaboration with the Quality Improvement team to enhance patient outcomes, optimize workflows, and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts. The APP will also assist in the development and implementation of standardized protocols and participate in initiatives that support the continued growth and success of the electrophysiology program.

Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Nurse Practitioners must be Acute Care certified.
  • Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) with successful completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee.
  • National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP).
  • Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty).
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward.
  • ACLS certification required for those involved in direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in cardiology is preferred.
  • Additional experience or exposure to electrophysiology or structural heart procedures strongly desired.
  • Strong clinical judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
