About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Test Technician to join their Sykesville, Maryland team. In this role, you will apply electronics principles in the fabrication, test, and troubleshooting of complete components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems. You will perform acceptance test procedures to verify equipment function. This includes determining methods for monitoring tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems, selecting, setting up, calibrating, and operating complex equipment, and verifying product and paperwork configuration, test processes, and test equipment setup. You will also measure, collect, and record electrical performance data, analyze and evaluate this data, and prepare accurate test reports. Additionally, you will program and verify devices, troubleshoot systems and test setups, and assist engineers in creating designs and developing circuits and processes. You will develop, construct, and test complex components and systems, including experimental and prototype devices, and perform necessary repairs and calibrations. The role requires adapting to changing assignments and requirements, developing processes and test specifications, and performing integration of software and hardware through debugging, coding, and modifying systems, as well as maintaining peripherals and networks.

Requirements

Must have a current active DoD Secret Security Clearance (minimum) with an investigation date of less than 5 years.
High School Diploma/GED with an additional 6 or more years of relevant experience with fabrication and test of complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits and systems.
Must have experience with electronics principles.

Nice To Haves

RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience.
Test development experience in a nearfield antenna range.
Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment.

Responsibilities

Apply electronics principles in the fabrication, test, and troubleshooting of complete components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.
Perform acceptance test procedures that verify equipment function.
Determine methods and techniques for monitoring tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems.
Select, set up, calibrate, and operate complex and special equipment and facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.
Verify and validate product and paperwork configuration, test processes, and test equipment/setup configuration and calibration.
Measure, collect, and record electrical performance data, including analysis and evaluation of the data, experimental models, and resultant data.
Prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
Program and verify devices.
Troubleshoot systems, devices, processes, and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas.
Assist engineers in creating designs and/or developing circuits, processes, and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications.
Develop, construct, and test highly complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.
Develop and construct experimental and prototype devices, models, and systems working from very general information.
Perform repairs and calibrations as necessary.
Perform initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment.
Make modifications/calibrations as required to achieve desired results.
Adapt to changing assignments and requirements.
Develop processes, test specifications, and revision notices.
Perform integration of software and hardware through debugging, writing code, and modifying systems.
Perform maintenance and integration of peripherals and networks.
