About The Position

Carter Support Services is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Technician to support depot-level repair of advanced military avionics displays and control systems. This is a hands-on bench role focused on component-level troubleshooting and repair of complex electronic assemblies. This position is ideal for technicians with strong experience in electronics repair, circuit analysis, and diagnostic testing, particularly in high-reliability or regulated environments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, OR 6+ years of relevant electronics repair experience
  • Proven experience with component-level debugging and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and diagnostic tools
  • Experience with soldering and electronic repair techniques
  • Ability to work in an ESD-controlled environment
  • Must be eligible to obtain U.S. Government security clearance
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Hands-on problem solver with a technical mindset
  • Ability to work independently in a bench repair environment
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics Technology degree or technical certification
  • Military electronics training (avionics, radar, communications)
  • Experience in avionics or defense-related systems repair
  • Familiarity with hot air rework equipment
  • Familiarity with stereo microscopes
  • Familiarity with in-circuit testing (ICT)
  • Familiarity with X-ray inspection equipment
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 certifications
  • Experience with BGA rework and advanced soldering techniques
  • Experience working with military display systems (AMLCD, CRT, LED)

Responsibilities

  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair on circuit card assemblies and avionics systems
  • Diagnose faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers to identify defective components
  • Repair and replace components including resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits (ICs), and connectors
  • Work on multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) in a precision bench environment
  • Use tools such as freeze spray, soldering stations, and hot air rework equipment
  • Maintain compliance with ESD safety standards and quality control procedures
  • Document repairs, findings, and test results accurately
  • Support continuous improvement in repair processes and turnaround times
