About The Position

BWXT's Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking an Electronics Technician for its Lynchburg, VA location! BWXT is seeking skilled and motivated Electronics Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial electronics and be proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various electronic systems and equipment including, but not limited to, CNCs, Automated Welders, QC and Security equipment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.

Requirements

Associate degree in Electronics.
Strong troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience in equipment repair.
Familiarity with CNC’s and/or PLC automated systems
Ability to use diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and managers.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
U.S. citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safety conscious attitude.
Diagnose and repair electronic equipment using various tools including voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes and hand tools.
Perform routine maintenance on electronic systems to ensure optimal performance.
Install, wire and de-bug new systems per electrical schematics.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes to reduce machine downtime.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, and inventory of parts.
Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in the electronics field.
