About The Position

This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment used in our manufacturing operations, mainly in automation equipment. This position will ensure that all electrical and electronic systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with our company standards. The role involves developing and performing preventive, predictive, and total productive maintenance in accordance with standardized procedures. The technician will interact with operators, supervisors, and co-workers in a team-oriented fashion towards a common goal. The ability to adjust to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment is crucial. This role requires reading electrical and electronic schematics, understanding technical books and manuals, and having working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet research for component manufacturer instructions. Extensive knowledge of PLCs, AC and DC drives, and Human Machine Interfaces is necessary. Troubleshooting faults and breakdowns using instruments, blueprints, manuals, manufacturer specifications, machine diagnosis, control parameters, and PLC ladder diagrams is a key responsibility, along with experience working with machine voltages up to 480 volts. The technician must be capable of repairing boards to the component level and keeping records of faults and alarms in a computer database. Navigating machine systems to check operating parameters and general setup is also part of the role. Programming ability for PLCs and HMIs, and drive setup are required. The technician will troubleshoot downtime in support of production and meet standards, performing all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Certification in Electronics Engineering or Associate Degree in Electronics technologies is required.
  • Correct use of testing instrumentation to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues.
  • Very good communication skills.

  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Mental alertness to identify and react to machine process, quality, and safety issues.
  • Effective communication with other team members and other departments’ personnel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to research in the Internet for manuals and instructions from components manufacturers.
  • Extensive working knowledge of PLC’s, AC and DC drives, Human Machine Interfaces, etc.
  • Experience working with machine voltages up to 480 volts.
  • Electronics experience and capable of repairing boards to the component level.
  • Ability to navigate in the machine system to check operating parameters, and general set up if needed.
  • Programming ability for PLC’s and HMI’s, and drives set up.
