Requirements

  • Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least three years of experience in the electronics field or equivalent experience
  • NICET Level I or the ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • At least seven years' experience in maintaining access control, alarms, and/or CCTV systems or equivalent (for Electronics Technician II)
  • NICET Level II Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire (for Electronics Technician II)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II Certification
  • Experience with low voltage
  • Journeyman Electrician License
  • Experience with installation access controls

Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of campus fire alarm systems, ensuring all equipment operates in compliance with applicable safety codes and regulatory standards.
  • Installing cabling for fire alarm systems.
  • Supporting the installation of related electronic security systems such as card access and CCTV.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues affecting fire alarm, security, and surveillance systems.
  • Assisting with maintaining the accuracy of the campus access control database.
  • Responding to after-hours emergencies and critical system issues as needed.
