Barfield is more than just a prestigious name in the industry: it is a subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering. We are looking to hire a dedicated Electronics Technician to join our team who will support our Maintenance Department. Founded in 1945, Barfield has six facilities near airports in Miami (MIA), Phoenix (PHX), Louisville (SDF), Atlanta (ATL), and Doral (MIA) to serve customers operating commercial or regional aircraft in North, Central, and South America. Barfield is part of the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) network, a major MRO provider. With a workforce of 14,000, AFI KLM E&M offers technical support to airlines, ranging from airframe maintenance to engine overhaul and repair, and component supply.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successfully completed electronics technician training by a certifying educational institution or 1-2 years of bench experience in the field or related area.
  • Must be able to follow written technical instructions.
  • Must be able to evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate units using official documents and hand tools.
  • Must be able to solder and de-solder surface-mounted electronic components.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with radio, digital, and analog electronics and testing using advanced equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, etc., and willing to learn one or more automatic test equipment platforms.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to stop and ask questions rather than guessing about maintenance actions.
  • Understand, write, and read English and know basic math.
  • Dexterity with hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Test, repair, or overhaul electronic, mechanical, radio equipment, and electromechanical components.
  • Test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate units using schematics diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals, and other documents such as Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and customer Engineering Orders.
  • Perform modifications following official instructions.
