Electronics Technician

Gastronomous Technologies Inc.Oakville, ON

About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Electronics Technician to be the hands that keep our hardware running — from the bench to the field. This is a broad, high-ownership role spanning PCBA assembly and rework, machine wiring and harness fabrication, and hardware testing and troubleshooting. You will work directly alongside our engineering team, supporting both new product development and the maintenance of fielded systems. You are the person who can look at a board, a wiring loom, or a misbehaving machine and figure out what's wrong — and fix it right the first time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on electronics technician experience in a hardware product environment — not a repair depot, not a service bench
  • Fine-pitch SMD soldering and rework capability — you can hit a 0402 and mean it
  • Harness fabrication experience — crimping, termination, routing, and loom dressing to drawing
  • Proficiency with standard bench instruments — DMM, oscilloscope, bench PSU, function generator
  • Ability to read and work directly from schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
  • Systematic troubleshooting methodology — you isolate faults logically and document what you find
  • Comfort working in an electromechanical environment — this is not a pure electronics role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a robotics, industrial automation, or capital equipment environment
  • Familiarity with motor drive systems, sensors, and field wiring in a machine context
  • Exposure to IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards — even without formal certification
  • Experience supporting engineering during prototype bring-up and debug cycles
  • Basic Python or scripting ability for test automation support

Responsibilities

  • Hand-solder and rework PCBAs — through-hole, SMD, fine-pitch components — to production quality standards
  • Fabricate, assemble, and terminate wiring harnesses and cable assemblies per engineering drawings and schematics
  • Perform incoming inspection, functional testing, and quality verification on electronic assemblies and sub-systems
  • Support bring-up and validation of new PCBAs alongside the engineering team — probing, logging, and diagnosing
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults at the board, harness, and system level using multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, and logic analyzers
  • Maintain accurate assembly records, test logs, and non-conformance documentation
  • Support machine builds and electromechanical integration — pulling wire, mounting hardware, dressing looms
  • Flag design issues, assembly ambiguities, and recurring failure modes to engineering with clarity and specifics
  • Maintain the electronics lab and tooling in a clean, organized, production-ready state

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits package
  • Direct ownership of your domain — no layers, no hand-holding
  • The chance to see your work running in commercial deployments across North America
