This position, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, will join a growing engineering team supporting the assembly, testing, debug, and maintenance of advanced electronic systems used in our handheld mass spectrometry products. This role is responsible for applying the team’s latest electrical developments to fielded products, production test systems, and research platforms. The Electronics Technician will work closely with engineers to assemble and characterize prototype and production hardware, support failure analysis activities, and contribute to improving product reliability and manufacturing yield. Requirements

  • Expert soldering, PCB assembly, and rework skills including fine-pitch SMD and through-hole components.
  • Strong cable assembly and wire harness fabrication experience.
  • J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 training or certification.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using standard electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters and laboratory power supplies.
  • Basic board and system-level debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar productivity applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with subassembly integration and box-build assembly.
  • Experience supporting R&D laboratory organization including management of tools, equipment, and electronic components.
  • Familiarity with task management and product life cycle management software (Jira, Arena, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble surface-mount and through-hole printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Perform PCB rework, including fine-pitch component replacement.
  • Assemble discrete wire cable assemblies.
  • Construct and maintain R&D prototype systems and production test fixtures.
  • Perform testing and basic debugging of production PCB assemblies and electronic subsystems.
  • Support characterization and troubleshooting efforts using standard electronic test equipment.
  • Create and maintain production documentation and records.
  • Maintain Quality Management System documentation and support process compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support new product introduction and continuous improvement efforts.
