About The Position

Subsite Electronics, a division of The Toro Company located in Perry, Oklahoma, is seeking an Electronics Technician I. This role involves building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying developmental and production electronic products. The technician will utilize PCB software and design documentation for prototype builds and troubleshooting, present information to cross-functional teams, document equipment characteristics, and perform other assigned duties. Subsite Electronics is a leader in providing electronic products for the underground construction industry, including HDD guidance equipment, utility locators, utility inspection systems, and equipment machine controls.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics and related engineering information.
  • Have effective communication skills, and work well with others.
  • Have a good work record of self-motivation, judgment, and productivity.
  • Be willing to work overtime or extra hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent formal education beyond high school.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting, soldering, and supporting electronic assemblies.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge (or willingness and ability to learn) of PCB layout capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic products.
  • Use printed circuit board (PCB) software and other design documentation to aid in prototype builds or troubleshooting electronic assemblies.
  • Present information to cross-functional team members.
  • Document equipment characteristics.
  • Analyze and apply information from a variety of sources, including interviews with engineers, operators, suppliers, technical literature, and testing or operating equipment.
  • Assemble experimental circuitry on a breadboard, on a milled PCB, or on a fabricated PCB.
  • Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly, reduce maintenance, and/or improve functionality.
  • Set up standard test apparatus or devise test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models.
  • Analyze and interpret test data to aid in troubleshooting and validation of assemblies.
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and/or modify circuitry and components.
  • Record the effects of testing and modifications on unit performance.
  • Use electronic equipment (oscilloscope, volt ohm meters, frequency counters, etc.) to troubleshoot, analyze electronic circuits, and correct problems.
  • Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Meet or exceed typical expectations for creativity, productivity, quality of work, and safety.
  • Comply with ESD guidelines for production parts.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and fixtures.
  • Work overtime or extra hours as needed.
