About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented technician to support the assembly, testing, and integration of complex electronic, electro-mechanical, and optical systems. In this role, you will work hands-on with intricate components and assemblies, following precise manufacturing documentation and quality standards to ensure reliable, high-performance products. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in electronics and optical assembly, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams. This position is well-suited for someone who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (i.e., GED)
  • 5 years' experience in electronics and optical assembly
  • High level knowledge of electronics and component types.
  • High level of dexterity for fine assembly.
  • Familiarity with optical focusing parameters and procedures.
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and bills of materials.
  • Ability to use various power and hand tools.
  • Ability to use various test equipment e.g. Digital Multi Meter, oscilloscope, digital calipers, etc.
  • Ability to solder through hole and SMT components down to 0201 package size using RoHS solder.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or on a team.
  • PC experience including Windows, Linux, MS Office, and other business line systems (MRP, PLM, QMS)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform SMT reworks, modifications and board/land repairs as needed
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001, IPCS-610/620, IPC-7711(rework), ESD-20.20 certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Test, integrate and assemble prototype and production level systems/sub-systems (electronic, electro-mechanical and optical) per manufacturing order utilizing strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small parts, wires, and intricate components.
  • Strictly follow documentation utilizing Arena PLM/MRP system including testing procedures, bills of material, assembly procedures, and rework instructions.
  • Test and log all results for PCBA boards / board sets, subassemblies and final products for functionality and quality per written instructions.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors and engineers on the status of jobs, materials, configuration issues, failures, and non-conforming material.
  • Utilize MRP system for job-related and operational transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
