The work includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, installation, repair, calibration, system checks, safety and configuration compliance, inventory control, technical documentation, training, operational-readiness reporting, and support for flight checks and certifications. Maintenance availability may be required up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and technicians may travel by helicopter, light airplane, or cargo aircraft to support systems. The primary work setting is an office/warehouse, with work also performed in extreme cold and dark conditions and at remote Antarctic sites.
