About The Position

Lynker Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Electronics Technician Maintenance III (ETM III) (Lab) to assist the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) in providing quality meteorological and oceanographic observations in the marine environment. This role supports the design, engineering, fabrication, testing, deployment, maintenance, and repair of worldwide buoy systems, including Weather Buoy Stations, Coastal Observation (C-MAN) stations, Tropical Atmosphere-Ocean Array (TAO) systems, and Deep-Ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunami (DART) stations. The program also involves data analysis, storage, and dissemination of weather and environmental data. The position requires performing electronic component level assembly, bench testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic Line Replaceable Units and processing systems in an electronics laboratory environment. The technician will use various testing equipment and follow provided procedures, drawings, and schematics, with limited supervision for tasks requiring independent responsibility.

Requirements

  • At least 6 Years of experience in maintenance, repair, test, and modification of marine electrical and electronics systems including analog, digital and RF Circuitry.
  • Demonstrated ability in operating, maintaining, and calibrating, micro processor based data acquisition systems, test sets, sensors, laboratory bench equipment and precision calibration electro-mechanical instruments.
  • Ability to work independently with no direct supervision.
  • Experience as a team leader.
  • Knowledge and skill of SMD repairs and IC replacement.
  • Training/experience in ESD awareness/precautions and proficiency in reading electronic schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability in operating, maintaining, and calibrating, microprocessor based data acquisition systems, test sets, sensors, laboratory bench equipment and precision calibration electro-mechanical instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Electronic component level assembly, bench testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting and/or repair of electronic Line Replaceable Units and processing systems that require the application of a considerable number of different basic but established methods, procedures, and techniques
  • Perform duties in an electronics laboratory environment using bench type electronic testing equipment.
  • Conducting test and troubleshooting down to the component level for environmental monitoring sensors, data collection and processing systems.
  • Using oscilloscopes, Digital Volt Meter, ammeters, pulse/function generators, resistance thermometers and waveform generators.
  • Quality work following utilizing provided procedures, drawings and schematics.
  • Tasks/assignments that require independent responsibility for following procedures, redline drawings, and time constraints for completing assigned tasks with limited supervision to ensure conformance with established policies, procedures, progress efforts and completion deadlines.
