About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance II to work in Fort Hood, TX. This role involves maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying, and installing various electronic equipment and related devices. The technician will apply technical knowledge of electronics principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment operation. They will also evaluate performance and reliability and recommend changes to circuitry or installation specifications. The role requires performing simple or routine tasks, such as replacing components and wiring circuits, using common testing instruments. The position is under close supervision with frequent checks for accuracy. The role is physically active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing, with frequent lifting of over 50 pounds. Requirements

Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
General experience as an electronics technician.
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
Ability to receive a favorable TIER 1 investigation and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Nice To Haves

Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program, or the equivalence in a technical field.
Electronic certification apprenticeship or technical degree preferred.
Two years computer experience/operation and PLC programming preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.
Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.
Minimum of High School / GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation.
Evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
Performs simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, such as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
Works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician.
Frequently checks work for accuracy.
