About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Electronics Technician II (RIS) to provide support for a position located at Tyndall AFB, FL. This role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of electronic systems related to range instrumentation, including communications, data link, radar, and destruct systems. The technician will utilize test equipment, perform depot and organizational repairs, and apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues. Responsibilities also include developing and installing modifications, maintaining records, and providing technical guidance to other personnel.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology, Engineering or similar discipline. Management may allow work experience to be substituted for degree depending on the type and length of experience.
  • Will be required to perform work as a tower climber.
  • Must possess or obtain an active CompTIA A+ or higher cyber security certification within 90 days of start date.
  • Secret security clearance is required.
  • Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Range Instrumentation Systems (RIS), including communications systems, data link systems, radar systems, destruct systems, computer controlled console systems, displays, ground stations, RF systems and tower mounted equipment, range instrumentation, fiber optics and other equipment assigned to the aerial targets contract.
  • Utilize test equipment to certify operation and troubleshoot systems such as 915 MHz Test Sets, DLS, DLSr, Destruct Systems, etc.
  • Perform depot repairs associated with RIS.
  • Perform organizational and intermediate (O&I) type maintenance and repairs to aircraft, targets, radar, COMSEC material and other associated equipment in the Aerial Targets contract.
  • Operate, inspect, repair, maintain, service, rebuild, modify and troubleshoot AATTCS and Range Communications.
  • Apply technical knowledge to perform duties through the use of manufacturer manuals, technical orders, regulations and COTS publications and other written documentation.
  • Assist in the development and installation of modifications associated with aircraft and targets, communications and control systems, test and support equipment associated with the Aerial Targets Program.
  • Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex depot level problems including those that cannot be solved through the use of manufacturers’ manuals, technical orders, etc. pertaining to the operations and maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment and aircraft associated with Aerial Targets contract.
  • Initiate and edit technical documentation and drawings to reflect authorized modifications and configuration changes.
  • Maintain maintenance records and enter maintenance actions in forms and/or automated records.
  • Provide technical data for completion of AFTO Form 22s, QDRs, MDRs, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to equal or lower level personnel. May be required to perform work of lower technical level personnel.
  • Perform other duties, related tasks within their classifications as assigned by a Supervisor.
