The University of Iowa is excited to announce an opening for an Electronics Technician II within Campus Safety’s Key & Access Services division. Requirements

  • Graduation from a two-year resident electronic school and three years of experience in electronics construction and repair work, or Any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses problems, performs repair and other forms of maintenance of complex electronic equipment and instruments such as oscilloscopes, meters, generators, counters, analog computers and specialized instrumentation equipment.
  • Calibrates and adjusts electronic equipment to ensure optimum performance.
  • Directs, trains, and assists other employees in related electronics work as required
  • Recommends purchase of new equipment and instructs operators in the use and implementation of equipment
