About The Position

This position is with the Equipment Management section at Martin Army Community Hospital located in Fort Benning, GA. Duty hours are 0730-1600. This is an open continuous announcement. Vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at the location listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

  • One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining, repairing, calibrating and/or testing specialized medical electronic equipment/systems such as x-ray equipment, ultrasound scanners, surgical, dermatological lasers, magnetic resonance imaging, or computed tomography scanners.
  • No substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and install complex medical equipment and systems in a medical facility.
  • Advise on special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems.
  • Serve as consultant to clinical staff in the purchase of new medical equipment and modifications of medical systems to meet special needs.
  • Inspect, operate, and test medical equipment to determine whether it meets government's specifications after purchase.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services inspections of medical patient care equipment such as x-ray machine, ultrasound scanners, physiological monitoring systems, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), etc.
  • Operate Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment to support troubleshooting and repair of complex medical equipment and systems.
