About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 4 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. The technician will be responsible for installing and maintaining these systems, performing preventive maintenance, inspections, evaluations, and inventory. They will also lead teams on large, complex installation projects with limited supervision, document daily toolbox talks, ORMs, and safety audits, and install and maintain equipment globally per design packages. Responsibilities include programming and installing head-end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems, troubleshooting systems and hardware, leading on-site software commissioning and testing, creating and documenting RFIs, providing design assistance, documenting daily reports and project progress, communicating project and team member issues to management, creating and managing project schedules, integrating IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems, forecasting and managing project labor hours, and effectively communicating with supervisors and subordinates, while also guiding and mentoring technicians.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours) OR Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program OR Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities
  • 8+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs
  • 3 years of the above experience must be focused in electronic security systems
  • Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Must be able to travel 50%.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to relocate a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Valid driver's license. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems & certifications and experience in installation of said systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and maintaining electronic security systems.

  • Lead the on-site software commissioning and testing.
  • Lead inspections, evaluations, and inventory.
  • Performing Take off project drawings.
  • Create, Document and Track RFIs.
  • Design assist and feedback.
  • Documenting daily reports and project progress.
  • Communicating project and team member issues/concerns to management.
  • Create and manage Project schedule.
  • Integration of IDS, ACS and CCTV systems.
  • Forecast and Manage Project Labor Hours.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors and Subordinates.
  • Guide and Mentor Technicians.
