About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours) OR Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program OR Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities
  • 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs
  • Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Requires a Valid driver's license.
  • Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to relocate a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems & certifications and experience in installation of said systems.
  • 3 years experience focused in electronic security systems
  • OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.
  • Conducts site surveys, configures hardware and software, and tests systems for proper operation.
  • Provides technical support to customers.
  • Enforces M.C. Dean handbook and policies, utilizing and comprehending project safety plans.
  • Participates in quality reviews of design documentation and analyzes drawing packages.
  • Tracks project metrics and participates in weekly resource allocation meetings.
  • Verifies correct charges in timesheets.
  • Executes installation and maintenance activities within planned durations and completes detailed documentation.
  • Tracks and inventories tools, conducts tool inspections, and organizes material ordering and receiving.
  • Conducts daily ORM meetings, ensures team compliance with safety requirements, and completes accident/incident reporting.
  • Participates in PITCO plan creation and execution for high-quality testing and installation.
  • Installs system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels, adhering to industry standards.
  • Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network and IT equipment.
  • Manages base switch configurations, participates in configuration of servers and workstations, and troubleshoots programmable components.
  • Ensures compliance with established QC plans and checklists, conducting quality control inspections and documenting findings.
  • Installs and maintains field devices, terminates and tests system components, and troubleshoots copper and fiber optic issues.
  • Leads commissioning efforts, tracks commissioning activities, and assists in representing M.C. Dean in meetings with owners and design teams.
  • Communicates consistently with MC Dean Project Teams, other trades, and customers.
  • Leads by example, provides constructive feedback, mentors crew members, and encourages strategic thinking and innovation.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Provides look ahead for assignment of manpower, material procurement/staging and resource planning.
