About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. Requirements

  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
  • HS diploma or GED; and one of the following: Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours), or Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program, or Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program, or An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
  • 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • 3+ years of the above experience must be focused on electronic security systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are a plus.
  • This position may require travel.
  • Available to work Night Shift — Friday–Sunday, 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and documenting daily toolbox talks.
  • Programming head-end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems.
  • Troubleshooting and isolating system and hardware issues at both a local and global level.
  • Providing on-site software commissioning and testing.
  • Performing inspections, evaluations, and inventory.
  • Managing and monitoring access control systems within the Bosch Intrusion Detection System (IDS), including configuring permissions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Testing access control, database, and system integrations, including credentials, access levels, and visitor workflows.
  • Training users on system components by preparing materials, supporting workshops, and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Documenting preventive maintenance, test results, calibrations, and performance metrics.
