Requirements

  • Requires a two-year degree from a technical school in electronics.
  • Four years of military experience in an electronic field will be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services and support in critical patient care areas including: Emergency Department, Linen & Central Services, Pediatric & Neonatal & other Intensive Care Units, Inpatient care areas requiring overnight stays for patients, Psychiatric & Complex Intervention Units, Transplant Units, Labor & Delivery, Cath Labs, and a Heliport.
  • Support the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) along with the areas and occupants of a Chapel and Convent.
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) per policies and/or procedures following the CMMS timeline, in alignment with The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Perform activities outside of their job classification as required.
  • Repair, calibrate, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on building electronics.
  • Make purchasing recommendations for building electronics.
  • Maintain building electronics systems including but not limited to: card access, fire systems, security cameras, conveyance systems, intercoms, public address systems, and cable TV.
  • Ensure equipment and systems are maintained to produce accurate results needed to monitor and run the buildings assigned.
  • Read schematics, blueprints, and operate a variety of equipment related to the diagnosis of electronic equipment.
  • Prioritize work appropriately.
  • Be available to work overtime as needed.
  • Be customer focused with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Continuously improve knowledge and abilities to become and remain proficient.
