Job Title: Electronics Repair & Debug Technician Location: Markham Reports To: Production Supervisor Department: Test Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Rate: $20.60 - $22/hr. Key Responsibilities: Core responsibility is Troubleshooting: Execute systematic troubleshooting procedures, including: Interpreting schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts to understand circuit functionality. Isolating faults to component, subsystem, or system level using divide-and-conquer techniques. Performing signal tracing and waveform analysis to verify expected behavior at key test points. Identifying root causes of failures (e.g., component defects, signal integrity issues, power anomalies, firmware faults). Differentiating between hardware and software/firmware-related issues. Apply structured diagnostic methodologies, such as: Hypothesis-driven debugging (forming, testing, and refining assumptions). Utilizing boundary testing and stress testing (temperature, load, voltage variation). Reproducing intermittent issues and identifying environmental or timing-related causes. Maintain detailed troubleshooting logs and generate reports with clear findings, supporting data, and recommended design or process improvements. Perform full-functional software and hardware preparation and testing/troubleshooting of analog and testing digital products, including microprocessor, DSP and RF-based products assemblies using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and multimeters Participate in team quality meeting(s) and provide feedback to team on issues identified after troubleshooting Supported various manufacturing activities, including building ATE, burn-in, and life test racks for power products Coordinated activities to support areas to ensure the program accomplished technical scope objectives on schedule and within the prescribed budget. Designed and implemented new software, test cards and procedures for test fixture development. Prepared reports, charts, and diagrams to disclose results and highlight areas for further improvement and solutions to defects Qualifications: Post secondary technical education (2 years Diploma or equivalent experience) 2-3 Years experience in troubleshooting-debug of electronic PCBs Advanced knowledge of electronic Components Basic programming Parts Data I/O and BP. Programmer Basic soldering and quality inspection skills with reference to IPC standards Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality standards Enthusiasm and ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment Detail oriented, quality conscious, well organized, and reliable Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English with internal and external customers as required This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
