About The Position

The Electronics Technician supports prototype and engineering lab activities by building, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting electronic assemblies, wire harnesses, and ECU modules. This role works closely with engineering teams to support development, validation, and rework of electronic systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technician experience in electronics, engineering labs, or related technical environments
  • Technology or technician degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong foundational understanding of basic electrical and electronic principles
  • Strong soldering and rework skills, including fine-pitch components
  • Experience with wire harness assembly and repair
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as: Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Electronic loads (e-loads)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Familiarity with Jira or similar tracking systems
  • Python scripting experience
  • IPC-610 certification
  • IPC-620 certification
  • IPC-7711 / IPC-7721 certification
  • J-STD-001 certification
  • Electric vehicle experience
  • Strong technical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work in fast-paced prototype or engineering lab environments

Responsibilities

  • Support receiving and shipping of electronic components, assemblies, and prototype materials
  • Manage material inventory and kit parts for assembly, testing, and rework activities
  • Perform PCB assembly modifications including component rework, soldering, and de-soldering
  • Execute blue wire modifications and repairs per IPC-610 Class 3 standards
  • Solder fine pitch ICs and small components (including 0402 packages)
  • Build wire harnesses in accordance with IPC/WHMA A-620C standards
  • Perform ECU module assembly per engineering drawings and specifications
  • Support mechanical and electrical integration of prototype electronic systems
  • Build and set up custom test equipment based on engineering diagrams and specifications
  • Conduct functional testing of electronic circuit assemblies and engineering prototypes
  • Use standard lab equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic loads
  • Troubleshoot electronic assemblies to identify root cause of failures
  • Maintain accurate test records, results, and procedure updates
  • Support continuous improvement through feedback on failures and design issues
