About The Position

Parsons is seeking an Electronics Installation Technician to install navigational aids, communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment on airfields across the United States National Air Space (NAS). This position requires 100% travel throughout the USA, with all travel expenses paid and full benefits offered. The role is part of the T5 Program, supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Capital Investment Plan, NextGen Program, national security programs, and aviation safety through various technical services including site selection, engineering, construction, equipment installation, and testing. The team supports the FAA across nine regions, territories, and specific FAA facilities.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment.
  • Extensive experience with above and below ground electrical installations, duct banks, manholes, steel racks, towers and poles, surveying, concrete work, excavation equipment operations, and airfield systems.
  • Familiarity with construction quality and safety best practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement project drawings, specifications, and client orders and standards.
  • Experience with the use of basic electrical and electronics test equipment.
  • 100% travel is required throughout the United States, its territories and possessions, and anywhere federally owned and operated air traffic equipment is operated.
  • Must pass detailed DOT background check to qualify.
  • High school diploma required.

  • Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training.
  • Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, measuring, and controlling equipment.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment operation.
  • Terrific customer service skills – a history of working directly with customers and site owners.
  • Computer skills – experience working with Microsoft Office for daily and weekly reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation of navigational aids, communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment on airfields.
  • Work as part of a construction and installation crew installing new or upgrading existing equipment and systems.
  • Complete projects on airports and at remote facilities in various environments.
  • Perform electronics systems installation, civil construction tasks, and electrical equipment installation tasks.
  • Assist with site preparation work at ATCT, remote telecommunication sites, Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs.
  • Assist with Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation at various sites throughout the USA.
  • Assist with electronics installations, integration and testing, electrical power panels, conduit, cableways, control cables, duct banks, AC power panels, and racks for various FAA systems.
  • Remove and repair or replace components, wires, wire bundles, terminal blocks, and/or connectors.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
