About The Position

The Electronics Engineering Technician is responsible for diagnosing failures down to the component level to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability and production efficiency. This role supports production and facility operations through preventive maintenance, calibration, controls support, equipment repair, and system modifications involving analog and digital electronics, furnace controls, test equipment, PLC-controlled machinery, and related industrial systems. The technician will also support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain calibration documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Experience using diagnostic and precision measuring tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing equipment and automated systems preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical and electronic components, controls, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to equipment issues as required.
  • High level of precision and attention to detail when working with tight tolerances and sensitive equipment.
  • Ability to work in overhead structures, beneath equipment, and in confined or restricted spaces during troubleshooting and repair activities
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electronic, electrical, and integrated manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Inspect, test, maintain, calibrate, fine-tune, and repair production equipment and associated control systems.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Support uptime initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing operations.
  • Perform and document calibrations in accordance with approved procedures and schedules while maintaining required records, logs, and reporting.
  • Review and recommend updates to calibration procedures in coordination with Maintenance and Quality teams, ensuring calibrations are completed within established timelines.
  • Perform temperature and performance profiling on furnaces, sinter tubes, magnetizing coils, and related process equipment.
  • Repair and maintain electronic manufacturing equipment including furnaces, presses, magnetizers, ovens, Hall probes, gauss/flux meters, adjusting machines, PLC-controlled systems, robotics, HMIs, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems to the component level using diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Coordinate with operators, maintenance personnel, engineers, and outside vendors to resolve technical issues and provide equipment troubleshooting support for production operations.
  • Identify spare parts and consumable needs and support inventory management activities.
  • Support installation, startup, modification, relocation, and validation of manufacturing equipment and control systems.
  • Assist with electrical controls design, panel wiring, equipment layout, and program modifications for manufacturing systems.
  • Write and edit PLC/HMI program code as required to support equipment functionality and process improvements.
  • Support fabrication activities, mechanical layouts, and creation of technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operation, functionality, and safe work practices.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements related to equipment operation, troubleshooting, installation, and repair.
  • Communicate potential equipment, electrical, or operational hazards to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and performance documentation.
  • Support housekeeping standards and maintain an organized work environment.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and training to maintenance and production personnel.
  • Support engineering and cross-functional improvement projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
