About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician in Orlando, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will provide hands-on technical support to engineering teams through electrical fabrication, soldering, cable and harness assembly, technical documentation, data collection, and test support.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an electronics fabrication, cable and harness, SMT board fabrication, or military product maintenance environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with soldering and harness fabrication to MIL-STD requirements.
  • 3+ years of experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical instructions.
  • Experience communicating technical, design, and process issues to engineers and management.
  • 3+ years of experience using software tools and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, schematics, drawings, and technical data.
  • Experience gathering, formatting, maintaining, and documenting technical or test data.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers and other technical personnel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established technical processes.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • J-STD-001 solder certification.
  • IPC-7711/IPC-7711 certification or experience.
  • Experience with cable and wire-harness fabrication.
  • SMT board fabrication experience.
  • Experience maintaining or supporting military-design hardware.
  • Experience with procurement or acquisition of test materials.
  • Experience interpreting and building test equipment from engineering documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering and fabrication tasks.
  • Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate engineering and test data.
  • Support documentation of laboratory results, material-test data, and engineering changes.
  • Produce technical documentation, reports, flowcharts, block diagrams, and schematics.
  • Fabricate electrical hardware from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical guides.
  • Perform soldering, cable, harness, and related electronics fabrication activities.
  • Conduct tests and record data to support engineering evaluations and analyses.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and preliminary technical-data analysis using established methods.
  • Communicate fabrication, design, and process issues to engineers and management.
  • Support test-equipment build and material procurement activities as needed.
