Principal / Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer
About The Position
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) division is seeking Principal Electronics Engineer/ Senior Principal Electronics Engineer in Baltimore, MD. This position requires a blend of Hardware and Software skills, experience with DC, Analog, Digital or RF test & measurement equipment, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems. The role involves a full design cycle from conception through design to fabrication and integration/test, manufacturing support, integration of Hardware & Software, certification with the Quality organization, system deployment, factory support, and software maintenance and/or hardware refresh initiatives. This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Level or a Sr. Principal Level.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience, Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year of experience. 4 years of additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree (for Principal Level)
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years’ experience, Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years’ experience (for Sr. Principal Level)
- Experience understanding in hardware design to include panel and/or cable design, schematic layouts, etc.
- Experience with Electrical designs such as integrated (analog, power, digital), panel design, cable design, and schematic layouts
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Active US Government Secret Clearance
- Ability to work onsite in Baltimore, MD
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
- Experience with integrated (analog, power, digital) hardware design and hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware
- Experience with lab test equipment, such as DMMs, O-Scopes, or related
- Experience with electrical design tools (e.g., Zuken, AutoCAD, PSpice, Siemens Capital)
- Active SAP clearance
Responsibilities
- Panel & cable design, electrical interconnects & schematics, developing acceptance criteria & certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting.
- Requirements definition
- Full design cycle from conception through design to fabrication and integration/test.
