About The Position

Fox Technology Center, LLC seeks an Electronics Engineer (Senior Broadcast Engineer) to provide engineering support for all on-air broadcast systems, and follow standard operating procedures and documentation to support the operations team in a 24/7 environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Two (2) years of broadcast engineering or related engineering experience in broadcast or television facility.
  • Experience or knowledge in IP-based technologies, IPv4 addressing, subnetting, routing, and network design principles.
  • Experience or knowledge in IP protocols such as TCP, UDP, RTP, DNS and NAT.
  • Experience or knowledge in SMPTE 2110 suite of standards and specifications such as AMWA NMOS.
  • Experience or knowledge in Compression techniques such as MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS.
  • Experience or knowledge in Asset management systems, file-based workflows, media acquisition, transcoding/encoding, and NAS/SAN technologies.
  • Experience or knowledge in On-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience or knowledge in Cloud-based technologies such as AWS services, EC2, S3, RDS and IAM.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Fox’s broadcast infrastructure.
  • Conduct lab, performance and system tests and prototype efforts that can continually evolve Fox’s architecture and infrastructure.
  • Support evaluation of solutions portfolio against third party offerings.
  • Maintain a communication link between broadcast engineering and other department by partnering to resolve issues and communicating feedback to broadcast engineering management, to improve processes, services, and solutions.
  • Provide support to Media Operations in day-to-day operations and assist users with technical issues or concerns.
  • Partner with the Engineering and Standards and Advanced Technology teams to develop groundbreaking technology solutions for challenging business issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, operations teams, and third-party vendors to develop long term strategy, product development and implement road maps.
  • Know data is critical to making informed business decisions and use it to understand and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team’s performance.
  • Analyze dashboards and constantly optimize system security and testing, minimizing bugs making it to final products.
  • Embody a culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies.
