About The Position

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team. This role involves supporting FBM LE refresh and design update projects for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), utilizing strong electrical engineering skills to collaborate with project partners and define the future for FBM. Key activities include participating in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test, and acceptance for various electrical and electromechanical test systems and integrated test equipment. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, extensive customer and senior leadership interface, and creating/updating project/process documentation. Specific responsibilities include leading the design, procurement, assembly, test, and verification of automated test systems, developing hardware requirements, interfacing with suppliers and internal teams, and creating test system design documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
  • 3+ years professional experience.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited College or University.
  • Hardware development experience
  • Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
  • Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.
  • Previous experience as a certified principal engineer or product subject matter expert on integrated hardware equipment.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
  • Issue Tracking experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Windchill, Zuken, CREO
  • Experience working on projects teams and development efforts.
  • Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrate test systems, and experience as Subject Matter Engineer or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated an ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products.
  • Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentations.
  • Requirements decomposition and technical proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.
  • Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with our customers, as well as senior leadership.
  • Create/update project/process documentation that align to project requirements.
  • Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of our automated test systems, including data review, error analysis, integration and troubleshooting.
  • Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.
  • Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to provide cost effective and low risk solutions.
  • Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers.
