About The Position

Nidec Motor Corporation in Rancho Cordova, CA has one open position for an electronic sustainment engineer within the Research and Development Department. This role involves supporting existing elevator products and working collaboratively with design and development engineers, quality engineers, and other department resources to resolve field and production/vendor issues. The engineer will be responsible for writing ECOs, processing cross-approvals for end-of-life components, and has the capacity to redesign, test, and debug electronic circuitry. Additionally, the role includes reviewing changes, approving PCB layouts for existing products, performing root cause analysis to improve designs, and writing reports, tests, and executing test plans. The position reports to the Quality and Sustainment Manager.

Requirements

  • B.S degree in electronic engineering, and min of 5 years’ experience in the engineering field or A.S degree in electronic engineering in a combined of min 9 years’ experience in the engineering field.
  • Experienced with PCB design tools such as PCAD, Altium, AutoCAD
  • Know how to use test equipment such as oscilloscope, DVM, Logic analyzers…
  • Analytical skills in solving electronic problems/issues.
  • Understand analog/digital/embedded designs
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills in verbal and written form
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member in large group across full functional team including suppliers, customers and associates

Nice To Haves

  • familiar with VHDL is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the existing elevator products
  • Working with design and development engineers, Quality engineers and other department resources to resolve field and production/vendors’ issues
