The role will provide opportunities to develop expertise in PCB reverse engineering, embedded systems, firmware, LCD/LED displays, touchscreen technologies, component-level troubleshooting, and electronic test systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Approximately 2 years of professional experience in electronics engineering, circuit-board troubleshooting, product development, electronics repair, embedded systems, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of fundamental analog and digital electronics principles.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic circuit boards and assemblies.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and related diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic to intermediate programming experience in C and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with embedded microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, RP2040, Microchip PIC, or similar platforms.
  • Basic understanding of communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, or Ethernet.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, datasheets, PCB layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on soldering and desoldering skills, including basic PCB component rework.
  • Ability to document engineering work clearly and maintain organized technical records.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering and production team.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies and develop deeper expertise in electronic troubleshooting and reverse engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a repair, remanufacturing, electronics manufacturing, product-development, or engineering laboratory environment.
  • Exposure to PCB reverse engineering or schematic reconstruction.
  • Experience troubleshooting embedded electronic products at the component level.
  • Familiarity with LCD, LED, touchscreen, or other electronic display technologies.
  • Experience with embedded firmware development or debugging.
  • Familiarity with PCB design or schematic-capture software like Altium.
  • Exposure to automated test equipment or development of electronic test fixtures.
  • Experience identifying substitute components for obsolete or discontinued electronic parts.
  • Familiarity with version-control and project-management tools such as GitLab, Git, Wrike, or similar systems.
  • Strong interest in diagnosing, repairing, and improving legacy electronic products.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where quality, turnaround time, reliability, and customer service are important.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reverse engineering of electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards, including signal tracing, component identification, schematic reconstruction, testing, and documentation.
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and failure analysis on electronic circuit boards using established diagnostic methods.
  • Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment to diagnose electronic and electrical problems.
  • Support troubleshooting and integration of LCD/LED displays, touchscreen assemblies, digitizers, and associated electronic interfaces.
  • Assist senior engineers with reverse engineering products and assemblies from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Support root-cause analysis of failed or intermittent circuit boards and document findings and corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing test fixtures, test procedures, and automated or semi-automated test solutions for board-level diagnostics and validation.
  • Support redesign and modernization of legacy circuit boards, including identification and evaluation of replacement components for obsolete or discontinued parts.
  • Assist with prototype assembly, debugging, testing, and validation of new or redesigned electronic products.
  • Develop and modify basic embedded firmware and test software using languages such as C and Python.
  • Support microcontroller-based products and assist with debugging hardware and firmware interfaces.
  • Work with common communication interfaces and protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Perform soldering, desoldering, component replacement, and PCB rework as required during development and troubleshooting activities.
  • Work with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Repair teams to resolve product and component-related issues.
  • Assist in evaluating alternate or replacement electronic components and provide technical input to suppliers and internal sourcing teams.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), test procedures, troubleshooting instructions, engineering notes, and repair documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing repair yield, improving product reliability, reducing troubleshooting time, and lowering repair costs.
  • Follow engineering standards, documentation practices, safety requirements, and established development processes.
  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting discussions, and technical training.
  • Perform other engineering-related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Occasional travel may be required for product evaluation, supplier visits, field testing, or technical support.
