Requirements

  • Proven expertise in category management, buying, or merchandising, ideally within the Electronics industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Advanced analytical abilities with strong command of financial metrics such as sales, margins, and inventory turns.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across multiple teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment, creativity, and a results-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of retail systems such as MMHF or POSPLUS (for internal applicants) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive assortment strategy for the Electronic portfolio, including product development, category expansion, and supply chain optimization.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships; negotiate best-in-class pricing, terms, and marketing support.
  • Conduct market analysis and category reviews, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation.
  • Forecast product demand and manage inventory levels, transitions, clearances, and promotional stock requirements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and product content for print, digital, and in-store channels.
  • Ensure merchandising standards are consistently executed across signage, displays, and product presentation.
  • Analyze sales, margin, and inventory reports to drive financial performance and category growth.
  • Develop and facilitate national product knowledge and training programs for store teams.
  • Oversee direct-ship and expanded assortment strategies to enhance customer offering.
  • Partner with Distribution and Operations to ensure inventory flow supports business needs.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
