Requirements

  • IPC-A-610 Certified or related Class 3 soldering experience
  • Fine-detailed work with hand tools and assembly
  • Experience with the handling and application of various adhesives and epoxies on PCBs and PCBAs
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in mechanical assembly
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from assembly prints, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Effective communication

Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow work instructions for assembly and document the progress of work orders on work order travelers.
  • Proficiently route and solder wires to PCBA with stress relief.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Proficiently clean related soldering work performed.
  • Perform SMT and PTH rework on caps, resistors, ICs, wires etc.
  • Assemble functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies utilizing approved hand tools such as screwdrivers and torque drivers.
  • Perform electrical continuity checks on work-in-progress or completed work as required by product documentation.
  • Be trained in and utilize all job-related software and computer programs such as email, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Smartsheet.
  • Maintain knowledge of component ID, advanced soldering, assembly drawings, bill of materials and specific written instruction in performing duties.
  • Cross train in other manufacturing processes such as functional and ring out testing, thermal testing, and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) testing.
  • Ensure that work-in-progress work orders are staged and organized efficiently in the work area.
  • Utilize released or pre-released drawings, blueprints, schematics or wiring diagrams to perform assembly and soldering on sub-assemblies of various products.
  • Operate various measuring equipment such as multimeters to verify workmanship.
  • Communicate with other team members when experiencing any work-related equipment, controls or systems have issues which disrupt the manufacturing process.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the manufacturing or testing areas of the company.
  • Be cross trained to assemble electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components into various other assemblies or legacy products.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies.
