Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team on 4th Shift as an Electronics Assembler based out of Elkridge, MD.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent (GED) with 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing Mechanical Assembly
  • Experience working on Circuit Card assembly
  • Experience reading and working from schematics and drawings to make initial layouts
  • Experience using hand and/or power tools
  • Experience and ability to successfully complete Basic Solder Certification, Visual Acuity Test, and in-house skills training
  • Experience working in tight spaces that require a high level of attention to detail and uncompromised quality
  • Experience and ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Experience lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs
  • Experience and willingness to work in adverse conditions
  • Willingness to work overtime when required to meet program deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Obtain all necessary information to perform job assignments and report discrepancies or issues to appropriate personnel
  • Plan, lay out, assemble, wire, solder, repair, and maintain electrical/electronic, mechanical, antenna, and trailer systems
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings to perform point-to-point assembly
  • Assemble and disassemble production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to manufacturing, engineering, and quality specifications
  • Perform wiring using harness boards, tie-in cables, and harnesses; install mechanical parts, components, and fasteners as specified
  • Perform circuit card assembly, repair, and soldering of components, including large masses of wires in confined spaces
  • Modify, rework, troubleshoot, and reassemble assemblies/subassemblies as directed by a Cognizant Engineer or other authorized personnel
  • Conduct peer inspections and verify product conformance in accordance with manufacturing, engineering, and quality requirements
  • Mix and apply bonding compounds, encapsulates, conformal coatings, paints, epoxies, and other finishing materials as required
  • Use and operate a broad range of hand tools, power tools, jigs, saws, assembly equipment, test equipment, and safety equipment
  • Understand the function and use of a broad range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts and components such as brackets, solder, wire, resistors, diodes, capacitors, relays, transformers, switches, PC boards, and epoxies
  • Perform field work and support installations, maintenance, or repairs in adverse conditions for short periods of time
  • Work in tight spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding environments while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and uncompromised quality
