About The Position

ASI is seeking a full-time experienced electrical engineer to support DoD aircraft platforms. This position serves as a professional Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer and key contributor to PMA-272, responsible for the development and sustainment of mission-critical airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and countermeasure designs. This role is focused on solving complex engineering challenges by designing, integrating, and testing advanced EW systems under the guidance of senior technical staff. This position is located onsite in Jacksonville, FL and is not remote eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus in electrical, wireless, mechatronics, or electronics engineering from an accredited U.S. institution (ABET)
  • Professional knowledge of core engineering principles, theories, and concepts in electronics, with a focus on RF signal processing, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and antenna theory
  • A strong foundation in the fundamental laws of physics and mathematics and the ability to apply them to solve complex engineering problems
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute development projects from concept to completion
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating within a high-performing team and for documenting technical work with precision and clarity
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must qualify for a Top Secret security clearance; currently active Top Secret security clearance preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with simulation, modeling, and analysis tools used for designing and verifying RF components, such as MATLAB, CST, HFSS, AWR, or similar industry-standard software
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems technology, including components such as receivers, exciters, antennas, and concepts like Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM), advanced jammer techniques, and threat parameter analysis

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate electronic warfare systems, subsystems, and components for airborne platforms
  • Execute research and development programs related to RF systems and Electronic Countermeasures by applying established engineering principles and methods
  • Analyze system requirements, threat data, and platform specifications to create innovative technical solutions and robust system architectures
  • Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications; determine critical project requirements, including materials, manufacturing techniques, and validation processes
  • Conduct and lead system and subsystem testing, including laboratory, ground, and flight test events and analyze test data to identify root-cause issues and draft recommendations for design modifications
  • Provide in-service engineering support for fleet EW and RF systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance support, and reliability/maintainability analysis
  • Evaluate system performance, reliability data, and failure histories to propose and implement significant design improvements
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and technical specialists to achieve project objectives and ensure mission success
