About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Electronic Technician is to maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems on industrial machinery. This position will troubleshoot, perform repairs, and support the maintenance team with mechanical, pneumatic, and welding tasks.

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical School education
  • 9 – 11 years of experience in electronics and electrical maintenance
  • Experience with industrial equipment such as conveyors, silos, compressors, electric motors, and circuits
  • Experience using Control logic and ladder logic
  • Experience with drawing PLC/Electrical circuits
  • Familiarity with high and low voltage systems, conduit work, and safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, harness use)
  • Familiarity with control panels and electrical and electronic components associated
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CMM Software, and PLC Software
  • Ability to install new electrical systems including control panels, conduit, wire and electric devices
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, SOPs, and work orders
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots electronic and electrical problems using meters, instrumentation, and specialized tools.
  • Performs repairs on motors, switches, automation systems, and wiring.
  • Upgrades or rewires electrical panels and components.
  • Supports maintenance team with welding, mechanical, and pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, using personal tools and expertise.
  • Creates, changes, and troubleshoots PLC/HMI programming, on occasion.
  • Assists with occasional PLC programming and related tasks.
  • Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains complete, accurate, and legible records of the equipment maintenance daily.
  • Works carefully and is aware of safety hazards while adhering to safety programs.
  • Informs supervisor of plant issues, projects, improvements, and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Keeps all work areas neat and clean under 5S structure, ensuring no safety hazards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
