About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring an Electronic Technician at Level 2 or Level 3 in Palmdale, California. The role supports a technical team responsible for building, integrating, testing, and maintaining communications hardware in laboratory and field settings, ranging from a single equipment rack to systems with more than 10 racks. The technician provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks and should be a self-starter familiar with working in an Integrated Product Team construct.

The position is full-time and performed on-site; remote, hybrid, and telework arrangements are not available. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time, with occasional surge periods of up to 40%. An active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance is required, and the selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SCI and SAP clearances within a reasonable time as determined by business needs. Relocation assistance may be available.

The position may be filled at Level 2 or Level 3 depending on qualifications. The listed primary-level salary range is $56,000–$93,400, and the secondary-level salary range is $66,600–$111,000. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Requirements

• Electronic Technician 2: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Electronic Technician 3: High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
• Working experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
• Working experience with industry standards for connectors, including D38999, D-sub, twinax, and RJ45.
• Must be physically able to move up to 50 pounds.
• Must have color vision to identify cables and wires.
• Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance, with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government SCI clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site; remote, hybrid, and telework are unavailable.
• U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring a government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build systems using engineering drawings and configuration and recovery documentation.
• Support startup and shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, and post-delivery support.
• Support building and installing custom cables, wire harness assemblies, and tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams.
• Produce engineering documentation and reports, including flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics.
• Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas and conduct preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided, including trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency, and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
• Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Build, integrate, test, and maintain communications hardware in laboratory and field settings.
