About The Position

Aetos Systems, Inc. is seeking a Voice Systems Electronic Technician to install, test, repair, fire-stop, and maintain various voice systems at Kennedy Space Center. This role involves working with unified power systems, converters, battery plants, amplifiers, mixers, cable rack fabrication, radio antenna and grounding, and building cable harnesses. Applications may include analog, digital, and/or video circuits and logic systems. The technician will be involved in development, engineering, test equipment, system checkout, and fabrication. This is a represented staff position with the IBEW Union.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science or Technical Trade School in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or 1.5 years of related experience for every 1 year of formal education.
  • Four (4) years of related experience or successful completion of a State- or Military-approved bona fide work-related apprenticeship program recognized by the US Department of Labor.
  • Understanding of electrical theory.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in performing circuit diagnostics and analysis.
  • Ability to read and have a comprehensive understanding of electronic schematics.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass an initial and random drug test.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical functions supporting engineering activities.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, layouts, and plans, often requiring interpretation and application of comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of electronic theory and principles.
  • Conducts testing in a development mode and determines methods or actions to correct malfunctions or design problems.
  • Recommends modifications to engineering designs as necessary.
  • May assist in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.
  • Fabricates custom support equipment for installing voice and data systems using various materials.
  • Installs, removes, controls, and replaces serial digital closed-circuit surveillance television and webcam systems.
  • Installs, sets up, and operates video equipment and portable sound reinforcement.
  • Performs software upgrades on sustaining systems.
  • Installs and maintains handheld, fixed, and mobile radio frequency (RF) radios.
