This position is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of highly sophisticated instrumentation and remote data acquisition telemetry. The role involves performing installation, repair, maintenance, and routine calibration for instrumentation and controls used in water/wastewater treatment and flow measurement, including telemetry. Responding to critical equipment failures, maintaining and calibrating test equipment, and updating repair procedures are key aspects. The technician will analyze job requirements, utilize technical manuals and drawings, monitor and maintain records of work performed, and assist in maintaining electronic equipment files and work order management systems. Additionally, the role includes maintaining and calibrating safety equipment, making recommendations for spare parts and equipment purchases, and assisting in drafting bid specifications. A significant part of the role involves directly supervising and training other Electronic Technicians, evaluating their performance, and assisting them with complex jobs. The Senior Electronic Technician may also perform duties of the Chief Electronic Technician as needed. This position is considered essential personnel, required to report to work during scheduled times, including departmental or emergency situations, as the plant's safe operation depends on sufficient staffing.
