This role involves maintaining a thorough understanding of digital design as it relates to radar signal generators, MTI, IF receivers, clutter reflection, mixers, multipliers, low noise amplifiers, and digital displays. The technician will exercise independent judgment in performing tasks such as circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, tracing signal flow relationships, and regularly using complex test instruments. Responsibilities include directing and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on various aerostat subsystems, including telemetry and control, power and control, tether, meteorological equipment, ground station electronics, payload and communications, and site facility electronics. The role also entails directing and performing aerostat electronic subsystem preflight and postflight checks, coordinating resupply and repair logistics, and fulfilling Civil Engineering site tasks related to electrical services. Additionally, the technician will train and certify other personnel, perform Quality Control duties, operate man-lift vehicles, and function as a key member of the flight crew for various aerostat operations. Other duties as assigned.
