About The Position
Performs advanced technical work in the installation, maintenance and modification of electrical, electronic and electromechanical systems and/or equipment. Much of the work is diagnostic, and involves the use of specialized instruments, and may be performed under emergency conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years’ experience in installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical and electronics circuits, or equivalent of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Valid State of Kansas Driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Certificate from a trade school specializing in electronics preferred.
Responsibilities
- Installs, inspects and repairs mobile radios, mobile vehicle recorders and mobile data devices
- Facilitate in the repair and installation of equipment in emergency vehicles.
- Repairs electronic devices with the aid of specialized tools such as a multi meter, watt meter and soldering iron
- Calibrate electronic devices with the aid of specialized instruments such as a oscilloscope, channel analyzer and spectrum analyzer
- Maintain Sedgwick County’s 800 MHz radio system through monitoring, diagnosing and repairing radio equipment
