Caterpillar Inc. seeks Electronic Systems Verification & Validation Senior Engineer at its facility located at Mossville Illinois Building AC Office (Chillicothe), 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, IL, 61523. Verify and validate electronic systems and components to use within equipment or machinery. Support engineers to perform tasks. Analyze the requirements of electronic systems and components based on customer satisfaction. Make and adjust design plans. Design, test and create electronic systems and components, and ensure products work alone and/or are compatible with other systems. Comply with safety regulations throughout the development process. Obtain information about product and service linkages with other products and services. Research target markets and how products and services are sold and delivered. Explain current status, delivery alternatives and updates to products and services. Summarize key features of products or services. Assess product alternatives, costs, and pricing. Adjust SOPs according to changes in organizational and industry procedures. Track deviations from and modifications to existing SOPs in business operations. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies. Establish standard operating procedures based on workflow and environment review. Review the efficiency of standard operating procedures in terms of performance improvement. Gauge the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights. Check and cross-check outputs. Process detailed information with good accuracy. Provide technical solutions to functional challenges via sound technical competence. Perform technical job aspects, build knowledge and keep up to date on technical and procedural job components. Apply technical operating and project standards to achieve excellence in delivered products, technologies and services. Apply current procedures and technologies to resolve technical issues. Research considerations and tools for converting schematics to layouts. Work with engineering electronic components or devices. Construct circuit schematics and explain interconnections between electrical components. Address common issues and considerations in manufacturing electronic products. Implement processes and activities associated with the design and testing of electronic circuits. Document test process and results and prepare and analyze defect-tracking reports. Summarize features of product-testing process and procedures. Test components for compliance with functional requirements and established conventions. Discuss and compare usability, safety and integration testing. Develop product-testing procedures and select testing environment and tools.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in electronic systems development, testing and validation or related occupation.
  • HIL system testing and hardware setup / maintenance.
  • Testing service tools Azure DevOps, D-Space Simulator, etc. and remote configuration of products.
  • Develop automation scripts using Selenium for functional, regression testing using Robot Framework.
  • Creating and maintaining automation acceptance test suite using Selenium, Ruby and Cucumber.
  • Computer hardware and software, programming experience in C or C++.
  • Computer development software as it relates to embedded systems such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc.
