About The Position

Cummins Inc. is seeking an Electronic Systems Product Specialist in Seattle, Washington. The role supports the design and development of HEV Kit Systems within First Mode, a Cummins business focused on next-generation hybrid solutions for industrial mining applications. As part of the Electrical Engineering team, the specialist contributes to innovative hardware systems from concept through validation and works across electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines throughout ideation, design, testing, integration, and implementation. The position is part of a small, agile, collaborative team where initiative, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration are valued. The specialist develops advanced engine control strategies to improve performance, fuel economy, emissions compliance, and product robustness; leads investigations into complex system integration challenges; translates stakeholder and product requirements into electronic hardware and software solutions; and carries out verification and validation to reduce technical risk and ensure production readiness. The role also uses data analysis, modeling, simulation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to inform engineering decisions, resolve problems, shape technical direction, and support innovation in existing and emerging powertrain technologies. Mentoring engineers and contributing to continuous improvement are also part of the position. Occasional travel to a testing facility near Seattle and limited international customer travel may be required. Relocation assistance is not currently offered, although it may be considered for a highly qualified candidate whose skills and experience closely match the requirements. The salary range is described as a good-faith estimate; the final offer will be determined in consideration of relevant factors, including qualifications and experience. No specific salary figures are provided.
