About The Position

Parsons is looking for Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technicians to perform on-demand services, inventory tracking, streamlined projects, and preventive maintenance on ESS equipment. This includes Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intercoms, infrastructure, cabling, door hardware, power, security consoles, life safety devices, detention locks/controllers, and turnstiles. The role will be based at approximately 220 court and USMS facilities in the Southern region of the United States Marshals Service (USMS), covering multiple districts across the Southern US. The company is seeking technicians located in or near Birmingham, AL; Pensacola, FL; Jacksonville, FL; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; West Palm Beach, FL; Miami, FL; Jackson, MS; Alexandria, LA; Tyler, TX; Midland, TX; Pecos, TX; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; and San Antonio, TX.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is a requirement for position consideration.
  • 3+ years of experience working on security systems.
  • Willing to travel up to three hours to answer service tickets.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work at high elevations.
  • Lift and carry 30+ pounds.
  • Pull, stand, and work in confined spaces; crouch for long periods of time; and work under inclement cold weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass Tier 2 background check/DOJ background check prior to beginning work.
  • Ability to be on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant background in low voltage electronics, physical security, access control, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current manufacturer certifications for the following (willing to negotiate upon hiring): Commend - Core Level Certification, Radionix (formerly Bosch) - G Series, IQ Sight (formerly Bosch) - BVMS, Hirsch - Velocity.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nonroutine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to onsite physical access control systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Intercoms, infrastructure, cabling, door hardware, power, security consoles, life safety devices, detention locks/controllers, and turnstiles.
  • Operates trucks, hand tools, light (1-man) power tools, and aerial man-lifts.
  • Maintains appropriate logs of activities.
  • Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies control and instrumentation systems at onsite locations under general supervision.
  • Assignments are undertaken independently on a regular basis.
  • Prepares required field and office reports of various activities and findings.
  • Initiates basic reports and/or establishes and maintains logs and records.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
