About The Position

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) General Services Division (GSD) is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Electronic Security Systems Specialist Sr. to join our Physical Security Department. In this critical role, your paramount responsibility will be ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, and buildings across approximately 85 ADOA-managed facilities statewide, totaling roughly 6.5 million square feet, with a primary focus on the bustling downtown Phoenix capitol complex. As a senior specialist, you will spearhead the installation, service, and repair of all vital security hardware and devices that protect these assets. Your daily impact will span across managing comprehensive access control and traditional key systems, maintaining robust VSS and IP camera networks, and ensuring the reliability of alarm systems, emergency phone boxes, and panic alarms. Beyond physical hardware, you will also play a key role in digital safeguards by facilitating the programming and ongoing maintenance of our badging system database and Video Management System (VMS), making you a cornerstone of the state's physical and technological defense infrastructure.

  • 5 years or more experience in commercial access control installation and servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of electronic access control systems, alarm systems, Video Surveillance System (VSS) equipment, and complex door-locking hardware to ensure continuous operation.
  • Install new security infrastructure, including card readers, electric strikes, door contacts, head-end equipment, IP cameras, software installs and upgrades, and mechanical door hardware across ADOA-managed properties.
  • Program and manage the Lenel access control database, including creating and modifying user profiles, establishing new access levels, implementing time-schedule changes, and configuring system access for subcontractors and new device additions.
  • Integrate new cameras into the network and program the VMS to optimize coverage, retention, and system functionality.
  • Conduct routine system testing, proactive repairs, hardware adjustments, and thorough cleanings of field devices to minimize system downtime and extend equipment lifespans.
  • Produce detailed system reports, execute firmware and component updates across the security network, and manage the deletion or modification of access privileges.
  • Accurately log, track, and complete work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Create and update critical Security System Documentation, including programming matrices, device location maps, and comprehensive system audit reports.
