About The Position

The Electronic Mechanical Technician is responsible for interpreting equipment symptoms, troubleshooting, and resolving problems in a timely and professional manner. This role involves using effective troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair electrical and control system issues, performing calibrations, and ensuring equipment is functioning correctly. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining documentation, organizing spare parts, and coordinating repairs with other technicians and external vendors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or GED.
  • 2 years' experience as an Electromechanical Tech in an industrial/manufacturing environment OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of motor control circuits and/or PLCs.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Firm grasp of health and safety codes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven ability to plan and complete projects and assignments from conception to completion.
  • Ability to work with contractors of various craft.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use and maintain standard electronic test equipment that includes digital multi-meters, VOMs, oscilloscopes, capacitance and inductance meters, meggers, amprobes, vacuum metering, semiconductor testers, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year Electromechanical or Electrical Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret equipment symptoms during the troubleshooting process and resolve problems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Use effective troubleshooting techniques to determine the cause of electrical and control system problems.
  • Efficiently test and repair electronic/electrical equipment, circuits, and components.
  • Perform calibrations and adjustments in accordance with approved standard procedures.
  • Functional testing of repaired boards and parts.
  • Tag and inventory boards and parts to indicate repair and test status.
  • Organize work spare parts and supplies.
  • Document repairs, service, calibrations, etc.
  • Maintenance of log-books documenting maintenance and repair history on individual pieces of equipment (i.e. individual H.V. power supplies).
  • Maintain furnace equipment and coordinate repairs with other Electronic Technicians as required.
  • Maintenance of electrical/electronic schematics (documenting changes, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively use and organize time around furnace schedules to make needed repairs and test repaired components on-line.
  • Assist in the coordination of electronic components that require off-site repair (i.e. cameras, monitors, crane controls, etc.).
